Full job description

Job title: accessibility specialist (section 508 compliance testing)

Clearance: candidate must already possess an active secret clearance (or higher)

Location: remote

Certification highly desired: dhs trusted tester certification (ttv5)

Educational/experience requirements overview: bachelor’s degree in english, communications, business, information technology, or a related field and/or 3-5 years of section 508 experience

Job responsibilities:

· perform section 508 compliance testing for a variety of electronic and information technology (eit)

· inform customers on section 508 standards and the use of section 508 tools

· develop and execute section 508 compliance test scripts, test cases, and test scenarios based upon section 508 standards and system requirement definitions

· conduct detailed analysis of section 508 test results found through independent verification and validation testing

· work with team lead to develop test plans, test schedules, and present time estimation for testing activities to be performed

· work closely with customers to resolve accessibility assistance deficiencies

· provide technical assistance and remediation guidance to developers

· test and/or remediate electronic documents using microsoft office and adobe acrobat pro and provide detailed reporting

· testing mobile environments using mobile accessibility tools

· other administrative tasks, as needed

Knowledge, skills & experience required:

· 3-5 years of experience in section 508 related field

· testing with section 508 accessibility tools such as jaws, dragon, zoom and others

· section 508 compliance experience and how it applies to eit

· knowledge of web development techniques using html, css, and javascript

· strong written and verbal communication skills

· proficient in microsoft office (word, excel, powerpoint) and adobe acrobat pro

· experience with microsoft sharepoint environment preferred

· knowledge of cross-browser compatibility (ie, chrome, safari, etc.)

· ability to prioritize and execute tasks within restricted timeframes

· detailed oriented, able to work independently, self-motivated, proactive team player

· ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language

· must be able to obtain a secret clearance

· client trusted tester process experience desired

· experience supporting a federal client

· version control experience

· adobe acrobat pro and microsoft office experience

· experience writing standard operating procedures (sops), processes documentation, or similar writing projects

· background in it/section 508 field
