As one of noaa`s top contractors, iss is seeking a principal logistician to support office of marine and aviation operations (omao) within national oceanic and atmospheric administration (noaa).
The office of marine and aviation operations (omao) is responsible for the operation of a fleet of ships, various small marine crafts, and a number of aircraft assets, both manned and unmanned, as well as systems in support of noaa`s missionThe ships include hydrographic survey, oceanographic research, fisheries, and living marine resource research vessels of various sizesThe aircraft are primarily used over open oceans, mountains, coastal wetlands, and arctic pack iceThey are supported by various systems such as small craft consisting of small boats, launches, remotely operated vehicles, autonomous underwater vehicles, and unmanned aerial systemsTheir purpose is to help noaa describe and predict changes in the earth`s environment and to conserve and manage wisely the nation`s coastal and marine resources.
Where you will be: silver spring, md - due to the pandemic, until offices reopen, work will be conducted 100% remotely via a noaa-issued laptop.

You have ten (10) years of progressively more responsible experience in systems functional analysis, logistic support analysis and engineering support

You have experience in engineering and integration, systems integration, conceptual designs and program implementation, construction, and general engineering for aeronautical, civil, mechanical, marine or electrical engineering projects
You are currently or have previously supported noaa omao, coast guard, navy or other government or commercial marine and aviation ventures in this regard
What your day will look like:
You translate user requirements and design data into hardware, software, and performance criteria and life cycle support methodologies.
You perform system, equipment and software functional and performance analyses, and define engineering support functions.
You ensure quality throughout the project life cycle.
You establish systems and equipment logistic support requirements, including standards for acceptance, functional adequacy, adherence to the design criteria and to applicable maintenance standards.
You conduct reviews of program documentation to assure compliance with standards, requirements, and adherence to program goals
You oversee logisticians and logistics analysts
