As one of noaa`s top contractors, iss is seeking a science communications specialist to support technical planning and integration for observation (tpio) within national oceanic and atmospheric administration (noaa).
Work location: silver spring, md- national oceanic and atmospheric agency (noaa)Due to the pandemic, until offices reopen, work will be conducted 100% remotely via a noaa-issued laptop.

You possess a strong background in training/supporting technical non-communications staff while engaging diverse stakeholders as a part of data collection, analysis support, management, and data update projects

You have experience in supporting multi-stakeholder survey processes, including knowledge in best practices and tools for effective data collection and validation both for key informant interviews and online surveys
You are an expert in microsoft office (powerpoint, excel, word) and google (drive, sites)

What your day will look like:
You work within a team of analysts to collect, maintain, write about, and present findings related to detailed foundation data used for analysis
Work in a team environment to plan and execute all phases of writing and communication projects
Synthesize and condense text that includes technical information intended for use by non-technical audiences
Assist in technical writing and editing of project documentation and deliverables
Conduct research and analyses related to scientific topics
Create audience-appropriate summaries and guidance on scientific topics
Develop reports and presentations, including creating text, charts, and tables
Interact with clients to ensure project goals are achieved according to client expectations
Work closely with iss staff and clients to achieve a high level of readability, consistency, and technical accuracy for web-based and print materials
