Job summary the role is for a data warehouse architect/developer experienced utilizing microsoft sql server integration services (ssis), ms analysis services (ssas) and sap tools to help with the migration from the customer’s legacy source systems to sap s4 hana source systemsThe data warehouse architect/developer must have a solid understanding of data warehouse best practices (strict kimball), relational structure, dimensional data modeling but more specifically be able to work with creating ssis packages, tables and views and analysis services cubesResponsibilities · create or modify technical specifications to meet business requirements that adhere to best practices· create new ssis packages based on business architecture documents· retool existing ssis packages from legacy data sources to sap data sources· unit test changes and manage deployments to minimize risk and downtime· follow department ssis policy which does not allow the use of complex sql scripting or stored procedure programming for etlUse ssis tasks such as lookups are used exclusively· review dw designs and provide feedback· member of the dw/sap implementation teamManage applications development projects, with routine guidance • business process analysis/determining user requirements• enhancement/development of specifications (including kimball bus architecture)• enhance existing ssis packages to use the new sap data sources while maintaining the integrity of the dw• development and execution of unit test plans• implementation managementSap s4 hana intergration • use etl tool such as ms ssis to build and edit etl and analysis services cubes• work closely with the sap/legacy subject matter experts (sme) to enhance/continue to provide a stable and accurate reporting platform for their use throughout the sap implementation• troubleshoot and find resolutions to problemsBe able to work through existing packages to diagnose open issues• work off of business architecture documents and prepared ssis packages• document solutions for future reference• note: sap bw is not utilized nor availableRequirements · bachelor of science degree or equivalent · job associated microsoft, sap or other relevant certifications desired · minimum of 5+ years of practical data warehousing experience· microsoft sql server 2012/2016 (t-sql) • expert knowledge of ssis (required) • mastery of ssas (required) (dax and mdx a plus) · microsoft sql management studio and visual studio team system, tfs 2019· microsoft excel including powerpivot· prior sap experience such as sap s4 (hana) (preferred; is a big plus)· ability to translate business requirements into technical design documentation· high level of initiative, self-starter, flexible, proactive and team player· strong communication skills including facilitation, presentation, and documentation (written and spoken)· must be able to resolve complex problems, effectively manage customer expectations, and execute to tight timelines with minimal supervision· previous manufacturing experience; preferred but not required.
