Job description
The lead aws cloud engineer is a key member of our cloud operations teamIn addition to performing an array of cloud platform engineering responsibilities, this position has a particular focus on cloud securityYou will be responsible for designing, building, running, and improving the technical defenses for aws estate, and other cloud-based offerings in the future.
*responsibilities and duties
First and foremost, perform customary cloud platform engineering activities as a member of our cloud operations team.
Additionally:
Ensure that itential’s aws cloud solutions are the most secure in the industry.
Drive security solution design and implementation at all layers of our saas offering including application, container, platform, data, network, and iam in public cloud.
Work with the cloud operations team, and risk and security team, to create and deploy security instrumentation to strengthen our cloud security posture
Collaborate across the organization to execute security initiatives
Drive our aws security strategy to continuously improve our security posture
Mentor engineers to build security into everyday development practices
Lead independent security tests to proactively find security holes
Rapidly respond to security alerts and drive peer teams to fix risks
Build security tooling to automate monitoring and patching of the cloud solution
Minimum required experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent
5 years of experience with aws cloud
5 years of relevant experience in security engineering including significant experience engineering security solutions within aws.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction; must be a self-starter and be self-motivated.
Two or more security related certifications preferred - cissp, cism, cisa, sans giac, cgeit, crisc, gsec.
Two or more aws certifications preferred – aws solutions architect professional, aws security specialty, aws advanced networking
Location: remote u.sCandidates will be considered.
