Job summary
The electrical design engineer is part of a cross-discipline project team, contributing to the successful and on time completion of parcel system upgrade and integration projectsThey work closely with project engineers, their design peers, electrical installation teams, and various support rolesThe serve as a mentor to their peers yet are not anticipated to have any direct reports.
The electrical design engineer is responsible for the successful execution of all tasks related to electrical design and electrical hardware commissioning on a projectThese include developing the full electrical draw sets and boms, field support, initial electrical hardware commissioning on site, and overall adherence to customer and governing agency specificationsThe electrical design engineer will, in most cases, be collaborating with a team of designers and engineering peers to support collectively in these efforts.
Essential duties & responsibilities
Develops and maintains a working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and project scope.
Develops designs, electrical drawings, and boms.
Performs electrical hardware checkouts on site at the beginning of commissioning and start-up efforts, including travel, weekends, and overtime.
Is responsible for ensuring the quality of goods and services to both internal and external customers.
Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent in computer drafting and design or similar technical program; or three years of applicable experience.
Working proficiency with autocad electrical.
Two years of applicable experience.
Preferred experience includes:
Mastery of autocad electrical features like parent/child relationships, cross reference control, scripts, and other advanced features.
Working proficiency with autocad.
Prior experience in the conveyor, material handling or related industries.
