Tdfreight is a landstar agency in the north atlanta metro areaLandstar is a multibillion dollar leader in the logistics industryWe are looking for a customer and service-minded freight broker/ dispatcher to be a liaison between customers and carriers.
The freight broker/ dispatcher is responsible for keeping and developing relationships with existing customers and at the same time securing new customers.
* base salary + commission.
Responsibilities
Generating leads
Providing customers with freight quotes
Booking orders with carriers
Negotiate contracts with carriers in an manner that optimizes profits
Constant communication with shippers, carriers and dispatchers to manage scheduled pickups and deliveries.
Communicate with dispatchers and drivers to track status of loads
Keeping accurate records of activities
Updating customers on the status of shipments and assisting with other inquiries.
Mantaining current knowledge of market trends in the industry marketplace.
To be successful in this position, person musthave current knowledge of freight carrier services and be effective in attracting new customers and ensuring customer retentionAble to multitask in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Requirements:
Highs school diploma ged or equivalent.
A four year college degree is preferred, but not required.
Prior sales experience is preferred
Logistics and freight and/or brokering experience is preferred.
A minimum of two years of computer experience is required.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Strong analytical and problem solving sills
Ability to persuade others to buy products
Ability to resolve customer complaints or problems and handle conflict.
Dependable, adaptable and flexible
Ability to pay attention to small details in a fast paced and high stress environment
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Established book of business is highly preferred but not required.
Outstanding people skill
