The role
Lumen`s black lotus labs is looking for a director of our research & analysis team in the united statesThis team works on large data sets looking for security threats in the internetWe need your skills to guide the team in areas of focus, output, and growing our capabilities as a threat intelligence teamThe type of person we are looking for is an established member of the threat intel community with a wide knowledge of security, a strong capability to learn more, and a desire to make an impact through others.

The main responsibilities
Manage a diverse multidisciplinary team that covers security analysis, machine learning, and malware analysis
Set priority of what threats to analyze and how long to spend on them to maximize the team`s impact
Build and maintain trust relationships with other intelligence teams, law enforcement, and other outside groups
Work collaboratively with closely partnered internal teams to accomplish work
Share your passion for security and making a difference in cleaning up the internet
Guide and encourage our external reporting of threats through blogs and social media
Maintain a culture of learning, collaboration, and fun in a remote team
Communicate effectively with your staff, management, peers, and the wider security community
Grow our crimeware and advanced actor tracking capabilities
Mentor more junior members of the team in growing their analytical and security skillsets
Lead black lotus labs to further establish itself as a leader in the security space
What we look for in a candidate
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of security concepts in support of defense and offensive areas
Previous leadership experience in a threat and actor tracking environment
Ability to multi-task and provide direction to team leaders for delivery of complicated technical issues across and upwards within management hierarchy.
Set and deliver strategic goals for the team which provide cross organizational alignment.
Technical knowledge & skills:
Strong technical background including expertise in both endpoint and network security, anomaly identification and mitigation
Strong knowledge of security concepts, trends and topics
Experience with vulnerability analysis and penetration testing
Knowledge of criminal and nation state actor groups and their ttps
Required:
Management experience in a distributed work environment
Experience leading a threat intelligence team
Ability to lead and engage a multi-disciplinary team and mentor junior team members
Strong communication and presentation skills
Comfortable with public speaking on security topics
Experience with the external publication of blogs, tweets, and data sharing methodologies
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships within the security community
Desired:
Experience in us government intelligence work
Active ts/sci with polygraph
