Spmt operator

Purpose of the job

Responsible for operating, (un)loading and (dis)assembling of the assigned spmt’s and auxiliary equipment in relevant configuration, moving loads, performing periodic preventive and routine maintenance in line with available work standards and instructions, to ensure the assigned work is carried out safely and effectively.

Typical education & experience/key skills

 secondary education (refIsced level 3)

 3 years of relevant of work experience in a technical or transport environment

 (safety) training and certification requirements (refMammoet training matrix)

 communication, professional level

 (modular) transport operations, professional level

 rigging operations and equipment, professional level

 mathematics (arithmetic), basic level

 hydraulics, mechanics and electrical schemes, basic level

 situational awareness

 mammoet academy courses

 english, basic proficiency verbal and written

Responsibilities

1Preparation

Perform the preparation of transport activities in accordance with the transport plan and relevant standards and procedures.

The preparation of work meets the requirements of the transport plan and relevant standards.

 read transport plan and work order and follow up in line with applicable standards and procedures

 cordon off jobsite and tidy up working area in an safe efficient way

 conduct inspection of the spmt’s and auxiliary equipment on wear and tear and certification

 set up support and beams for staging load and build trailers using basic hand tools to prepare for heavy hauling projects

2Spmt operation

Operate the relevant spmt configuration to execute the transport, move and (re)position the load in line with transport procedures and direction as well as assistance given by the supervisor.

An effective, efficient and safe transport execution.

 operate the spmt in accordance with the prescribed guidelines, rules and procedures, perform lmra

 communicate with supervisor who provide direction assistance through radio communication and hand-arm signals

 lash to secure load on spmt and unlash after completion

Carry out tasks in a proper and safe manner by following applicable safety standards, procedures and instructions and at all times remain aware of the situation and circumstances at the jobsite.

4Routine maintenance

Execute periodic preventive and routine maintenance on lifting accessories in accordance with the relevant standards and procedures, and-or instruction of the mechanic.

The (auxiliary) equipment is maintained efficiently, effectively and timely in support safety and utilisation standards.

 draw attention to services-repairs in consultation with planning and emd

 follow appropriate emd procedures and maintain logs

5Administration

Perform administrative tasks in line with the applicable guidelines and procedures in order to record relevant data in an accurate and timely manner, in line with internal and external requirements.

Operations documentation and data is complete, correct and timely processed.

 fill in lmra cards, work order form and getting the customer to sign it

 record time registration, keep personal training certificates up to date

 check the availability of equipment certificates, log book, manuals, spare parts list and report deviations
