Full job description
Manning & kass, ellrod, ramirez, trester, llp (mkert), a top-tier national law firm, is seeking an associate attorney to represent our firm on general civil litigation and police civil litigation in the phoenix metropolitan areaApplicants can choose to work in our phoenix office, at home or hybrid.
Mkert’s phoenix office is excited by the growth potential in both general civil and police civil litigationApplicants will have case handling responsibility and work closely with clientsOur teams represent clients in a variety of litigation matters, including civil rights defense, personal injury, general litigation and employment disputes.

Our ideal candidate must have four or more years of litigation experience and will bring prior case handling and deposition experience to support our firm and our clientsTrial experience and federal court experience are plusses.
Responsibilities
· case handling, including analyzing, assessing and executing litigation strategies through all states of litigation.
· proactive client communications, including providing liability coverage analyses to the clients.
· represent clients at litigation proceedings, including at hearings, motions depositions, and mediations.
· research and draft case materials, including pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
· investigate liability claims, including researching and evaluating claims, providing recommendations, and developing litigation strategy.
Requirements
· must have 4+ years of litigation experienceTrial experience is a plus.
· j.dFrom an accredited law school and current good standing with the arizona state bar.
· proven work experience in general litigationExperience in governmental liability and/or police civil liability defense matters is a plus.
· demonstrable experience researching, analyzing, deposing, and handling cases.
· detail-oriented with excellent writing, communication, and case analysis abilities.
· embodies manning & kass’ core values of respect for leadership, hard work and integrity.
· up-to-date with latest trends and best practices in general litigationKnowledge of current state and federal police civil liability laws is a plus.
