Open position: services technician – solar electrical (100% travel)
Experience:
Direct renewable work experience preferred
Electrical proficiency required
Indirectly related experience will be evaluated on a case by case basis
Post-secondary education is a plus!
Work description:
Personnel will be required to have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Attention to detail and safety focused
Renewable energy experience desired
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Self-motivated with high level of integrity
Work possible rotating shifts
100% travel is required for this position
Prolong standing / and working in ergonomic challenging positions
Varied climates based upon locations
Physically fit for climbing and lifting operations
Teamwork and communication skills
Proficient in english based upon supporting ehs internal and external requirements
Field roles and responsibilities:
Act as a team member to support site work
May be required to supervise field work onsite focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency
Operate under properly performed loto conditions
May be required to perform loto of equipment as an authorized person
Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions
May be required to conduct pre-task planning, jha’s, and ra’s
Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner
Ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions
May be required to provide feedback to safety and quality for business improvements
Additional knowledge, skill, and ability:
Conduct safe and efficient repairs to all solar electrical systems
Detailed knowledge and skill in trackers, combiners, inverters, and sub-stations
Perform proper isolation of electrical components (loto)
Establish electrically safe work conditions
Demonstrate to proper usage of ppe and compliance to procedures
Ability to read and interpret schematics by various solar manufacturers
May be required to ability to recognize major faults and correct
Properly document all work in a variety of electronic formats
Repair/replace fiber optics
Education and certifications:
Hs diploma / ged is required
Osha 10 recommended
Additional post high school education is preferred
Electrical certifications a plus!
