Role profile:
The director has overall responsibility for project management, client management, solution design and implementation and generation of project resultsThe director is responsible for working with client executives and directors to maintain the appropriate client support and momentumThe director also has responsibility for mentoring the managers, senior consultants, and consultants on the project team and helping them develop by creating meaningful roles and providing necessary direction.
The director uses established procedures and methodologies when possible, but must take a leadership role in the development of new procedures and methodologies when work situations requireWork situations range from routine to complexThe position requires the ability to analyze work flows and set priorities to insure timely completionThe director receives limited day to day supervision and is responsible for achieving overall project objectivesThe director is responsible for supervision of medeanalytics personnel during times of onsite activities and remote at home work.
The director works closely with client executives and operations professionals, including staff physicians and nurses, along with personnel in admitting & registration, medical records, finance, patient accounting, quality assurance, case management, information systems and other departments throughout the hospital and integrated delivery networkContacts frequently contain confidential/sensitive information necessitating discretion at all timesInteractions will range from routine to complex and include presentations, one-on-one and group discussionsStrong oral and written communications are required.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Leads and focuses team efforts in data gathering and analysis by insuring efficient data collection, instructing on analytical choices and formulating conclusions and recommendations
Leads team efforts in developing solutions to difficult or complex client situations
Provides quality control for work done by team
Adapts methodologies to typical and complex situations, circumstances and new requirements
Assists with project planning, organizes and schedules staff to insure leverage of resources
Insures compliance with medeanalytics administrative policies by staff
Controls scope of client expectations surrounding delivery of medeanalytics generated results
Assists in preparation and collection of monthly invoices
Communicates effectively with all levels of client management
Communicates progress, difficulties and solutions that reflect ability to anticipate and adapt to changing circumstances
Prepares client status reports
Makes presentations to clients and medeanalytics staff that demonstrate full command of factual material
Prepares final drafts of major reports
Able to influence the actions and opinions of others
Develops tracking tools to measure project progress and to measure benefit provided to clients
Understands medeanalytics tools and functionality of client is systems
Effectively directs, coaches, motivates and evaluates consultants and senior consultants
Other responsibilities and functions as required
Essential skills, experience and education:
Strong performance in achieving a bachelor’s or equivalent degree specializing in health care administration, economics, industrial engineering, math, accounting or business
Previous experience with a consulting firm, technical firm and/or clinical experience is required
Requires strong personal computer skills (excel, word, windows, powerpoint, microsoft office), analytical skills (problem solving, quantitative, work flow process, etc.), and the ability to demonstrate proficiency and comprehension of medeanalytics tools
Ability to perform advanced mathematical analysis
Financial analysis experience is desirable
Requires use of independent judgment, discretion and decision making abilities
Must possess negotiation, presentation, selling, customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and persuade clients
Requires ability to work in team environment, be creative and mentor and train others
Advanced english language skills (reading, writing and comprehension)
Job conditions:
Position requires extensive travel (50-60%)
Must have access to personal transportation
Work space is often limited
