Mirage manufacturing has been in gainesville, flSince 1971, building sportfishing and liveaboard trawlersWe`re looking for a motivated person, with 2+ years of fiberglass patching experience to join our team.
Job description:
This position is responsible for repairing and buffing defects in fiberglass boat hulls, decks, cabins and any other necessary parts using hand tools.
Job responsibilities:
Manage team of laminators to build fiberglass parts
Organize and schedule work
Train laminators
Examine and repair cosmetic damage caused to fiberglass parts during production, or on new and used boats that come to the factory.
Create new parts with provided molds and materials.
Cut out necessary fiberglass materials needed for repair.
Mix resin catalyst properly.
Smooth repaired surfaces using sandpaper or power disk sander.
Use spray gun on repaired surfaces.
Polish and buff repaired surfaces.
Job requirements:
Must be reliable and punctual; shift starts at 7am.
Must have knowledge of proper procedures for mixing and measuring gel coal and fiberglass resin according to specifications.
Must have experience with gel coats and fiberglass patching.
Must understand color matching and use of wax, styrene and other additives.
Ability to identify and restore defective parts.
Must be able to read blueprints.
Must be able to fabricate and assemble manufactured products by hand.
Must be able to read work orders, instructions, formulas and any other necessary documentation to properly repair damaged fiberglass parts.
Must be able to examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications.
Must be able to properly handle power tools and hand tools.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks in assembly line setting.
Must have the ability to stand, walk and/or move about for extended periods of time.
Ability to reach, bend, balance, lift, and transport various heavy objects throughout the shift.
Be able to work inside and outside of roofed warehouse in all weather conditions.
