This position will join an existing miw team engaged in engineering and validating an exciting new technology within a north american tier 1 cellular network operator.
This is an opportunity to expand your already extensive mobile core experience and help build the next generation first responders’ network, firstnetThe iwf platform is a key enabler that allows the legacy radio system to interact with the new 4g/ 5g firstnet solutionYou will work closely with our client’s architects and the oem to covert the architectural design into a solution that can be deployed on the production network.

Duties:
Analysis and implementation of network design requirements.
Support client in technical discussions with platform architects and suppliers
Collaboration and knowledge sharing with other platform teams
Support buildout in lab environment
Assist in methods or procedures (mop) development.
Integration of vnf/application with cloud infrastructure
Assuring performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security functionality meets requirements.
Coordination of system integration activities, cloud infrastructure integration, and pair-wise systems integration.
Engineering support of lab and production testing.
Tier iii production support.
Troubleshooting, fault identification, rca, and resolution verification.
Technical support for defect management.
Deliverables include;
Up/cp vnfs functions
Call flow validation
Pair-wise system integration
Device/client, pair-wise system interface compliance
Physical and logical architecture diagrams and logical connectivity documentation
Location: the client is open to well qualified candidates working remotely within the usa mainland.
The client’s teams are predominately based in redmond, wa and candidates will be expected to support pacific time zone working hours.
To support remote work, personnel will need to have access to a suitable working environment free from interruptions, with robust internet connectivity.
Required skills:
In-depth gateway engineering and troubleshooting knowledge.
Extensive layer 3 / 4 network engineering experience.
Significant experience working in a pre-production environment.
Extensive wireshark experience.
Vnf design experience (full: compute, storage, networking, orchestration: heat stacks)
Vnf application dimensioning and cloud capacity planning experience
Experience working with one or more:
Kubernetes, type 2 linux hypervisors (e.gUbuntu), sr iov and dpdk, ansible development, dmtf redfish, prometheus and grafana, (r)dbms and tsdb, elasticsearch.
Preferred skills:
Azure/ openstack - vm/container provisioning, deployment, and configuration
Cloud related certifications
Jira/ hp qc experience
