Objective:
The senior test automation engineer is a critical member of the cross-functional cloud platform teamAs part of the enterprise solutions architecture group, she/he will ensure that application/s meet business standards for functional, system, quality, and architecture requirementsThe senior test automation engineer will review business and software requirements, design and automate the execution of tests, log defects, and report test status to the project teams to provide highest quality as possibleShould be hands-on and eager to make an immediate impact upon joining the teamStrong coding skills, strong knowledge in java or python programming language required.
The role / responsibilities:
Write and maintain automated test suites for functional and performance testing; automate the provisioning of test environments as required including client and web applications, services and databases;
Support automating traceability of stories, acceptance criteria and test cases through the integration of ci/cd frameworks and tools;
Design & build automation smoke, feature & regression tests;
Prepare automation test plans for service level tests, integration tests and ui tests as needed; participate in release/iteration planning, smoke, feature and regression test planning.
Ensure the quality of releases for the features by running the test cases and reporting them;
Participate in the product feature design and specification with product managers, ux engineers and developers;
Be part of an agile team, participate in all agile ceremonies & activities and be accountable for the sprint deliverable;
Review product owner acceptance criteria and look for non-functional requirement gaps to fill;
Review code with your peers for testability, supportability and look for full unit test coverage;
Keep the test cases updated;
The candidate will operate both as selenium automation developer, functional tester, and backend tester based on demand.
Qualifications
Candidates are expected to demonstrate experience in each of the above responsibilities and focus areas, with the following specific qualifications:
Required:
5+ years of experience working as a test automation engineer
Proven professional software testing experience including test automation, test data creation, test case design, and test methodologies.
Clear articulation and precise communication to leadership and stakeholders.
Organized, detail-oriented and has ability to multitask.
Extensive hands-on experience with selenium webdriver (using java), maven, testng frameworkJunit, cucumber knowledge are a plus.
Knowledge of aws cloud technologies: snowflake, codebuild, dynamodb.
Experience with jira, git, github.
Experience with sdlc and agile/scrum methodologies.
Strong sense of self-motivation, organization, and attention to details.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment, and own the end to end testing process.
Experience in web services – api testing manually using postman and rest api automation testing framework is a plus.
Strong coding skills, strong knowledge in java or python programming language.
Experience in database testing, capable of understanding advanced sql concepts.
Preferred:
Bs or higher in computer science or related technical field.
Industry certification in aws is a plus.
