We are currently seeking a geospatial analyst to join our team in washington, district of columbia (us-dc), united states (us).
Responsibilities are as follows:
Gather, analyze, and store geospatial data according to the clients` requirements.
Use the proper devices and software tools to analyze geographical objects under observation.
Extract relevant information from the gathered geospatial data and apply analytical methods to solve problems related to intelligence.
Analyze geographical areas for humanitarian response.
Track changes to the landscape as well as damages that have occurred due to natural disasters to understand earth`s overall environmental condition.
Divide gathered geospatial data into various data sets to suit the needs of our various clients.
Write reports on your geospatial analysis findings.
Present the relevant information in an understandable way in various meetings and presentations.
Research and developing geospatial products for the market and internal use.
Perform geo-coding for further use in geographic information systems.
Design digital maps with geographic data and other data sources.
Create `shapefiles` to merge topographical data with external data by layering external data over a topographical map.
Produce maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data.
Develop mapping applications and tools.
Convert physical maps into a digital form for computer usage.
Perform data munging and cleaning to convert data into its desired form.
Produce reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations.
Manage a digital library of geographic maps in various file types.
Basic qualifications (must haves):
Degree in computer science, geography, surveying, engineering or related field.
Minimum 6 years of working experience in cartography or drafting
Education requirements:
Bs/ba in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, physical science, or other technology-related discipline.
Note: a bachelor’s degree may be substituted for 2 years of required experience with an associate’s degree or 4 years with a h.sDiploma
Security requirements:
Must be a us citizen with the ability to obtain an interim (secret/top-secret) clearance

Preferred qualifications:
Master`s degree preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced working knowledge of geospatial devices and software tools.
Strong mathematics, computer, and design skills.
Proficiency with database programming languages such as sql, r or python.
Proficiency with front end design languages such as html, css, javascript and various mapping languages.
Experience with mapping tools such as qgis and carto.
Experience rendering maps in bi packages like tableau and powerbi
Outstanding quantitative skill set.
Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
Analytical mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Good interpersonal skills.
