We’re excited to add a vp of engineering who will own technical resource allocation and people development for our engineering teams, with a focus on simplicity, scalability, problem solving and successful delivery!
In this role, you’ll get to:
Collaborate with the ceo and cto to set the operational and organizational strategy for the engineering team based on kpis, and drive the tracking, course-correction, and achievement of these kpis
Serve as lead technical architect, technical decision-maker, and engineering lead for the platforms, tools, and services developed by our engineering team
Work cross-functionally with other leadership team members at numerade to align our team to our product roadmap and recommend future resource and team planning needs
Develop and implement engineering improvement processes and elevate engineering best practices
Build scalable code and focus on user experience
Evaluate, recruit, coach, and mentor team members while supporting individual employee career growth objectives and coaching on excellent software development practices
Ensure technical and career growth opportunities for team members
You’ll come with:
Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in an engineering role building consumer-facing products at scale
Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience leading a team of engineers across different functions and platforms
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent technical discipline
Proven track record of success in designing and building scalable engineering teams in a start-up or fast-paced atmosphere
Extensive experience with python and java-based web applications and their related ecosystem of libraries/frameworks (e.gDjango, spring)
Experience with modern search engines, task queues, message brokers (celery, rabbitmq, elasticsearch)
Expert knowledge of high-performance software and application design and architecture at scale
Excellent understanding of quality assurance, automation, and dev processes
Excellent communication (written and oral), coordination and collaboration skills
Experience with planning, scheduling, tracking and status reporting of deliverables and milestones
Familiarity with docker, kubernetes, cloud vendors (aws & google).
Knowledge of code versioning tools
Comfortable writing scalable and efficient code in a fast paced agile environment
