Lead, grow and inspire a team of quality engineering leaders focused on delivering high quality products, positive customer experiences and reducing time to market
Embrace and drive change in all things: in your team and in our processes to adopt a holistic quality strategy that balances speed and quality
Act as a strong advocate for quality in the product and development lifecycles, and ensure quality has a seat at the table
Document project testing visions, design test data and and testing tool requirements to ensure project success
Architect, develop, select and/or implement tools to support an automation first approach to testing
Provide leadership and team guidance in agile processes like backlog grooming, card estimating, demos, sprint kick-offs
Manage risks and resolve blockers that affect release scope, schedule and/or quality
Measure progress of projects and testing activities to ensure releases are delivered on schedule and meet or exceed customer expectations
Participate in project readiness reviews and and business go/no-go decisions
Identify and evolve process issues critical to team operations, use collected data and insights to establish the root cause of inefficiency
Own your technical stories and assignments- from writing code, clarifying requirements, meeting project timelines, and increasing overall test coverage
Help maintain and contribute to the collaborative engineering culture, and foster proactive and cooperative relationships within the project team
Coach your team by providing technical guidance, continuous feedback loops, holding regular 1:1s, approving time off, etc…
Requirements
You’re a seasoned software quality leader, ideally with 6+ years in software quality engineering (qa, qe, sdet) and 4+ years of experience leading a team
You are a hands-on manager who can build teams and ensure they perform
Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: javascript, typescript, ruby, python
Understanding of web technologies like html, css, json, apis
Experience with version control systems such as gitlab, codecommit or bitbucket
Experience with microsoft windows, microsoft visual studio code, jira/confluence
Strong ability to debug code, analyzes failures, and trace defects to root causes
Requires strong technical awareness and the ability to understand the reasoning and implications of technical decisions
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and plan work in a rapidly changing environment
A never tiring advocate for software quality and able to partner with stakeholders to drive transformational change
Experienced in the development of highly maintainable and reliable code using practices such as unit testing, integration testing, proper code documentation, and appropriate logging
Excellent organizational skills, and proven ability to prioritize your work
Strong analytical skills and can creatively solve problems in a fast-paced agile environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues to internal and external stakeholders
