The benefits edi & reporting specialist provides technical support as an electronic data interface resource and subject matter expert and is responsible for preparing and distributing reporting of enrollment data from customized benefits enrollment platforms to meet carrier and client specificationsThis position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining existing data interfaces and will act as an ongoing technical support contact, developing and maintaining relationships with external vendors, third parties and carriersThe edi & reporting specialist will work independently and be responsible for client interfaces and project management of each interface as assigned by clientThis position will research resolution for escalations, complete special projects as assigned, and interact with internal contacts and external carriers and vendors.
Essential functions:
- work with carriers, clients, and account teams to determine the frequency and requirements to report all enrollment data and file feeds between benefits administration systems, carriers, payroll vendors, and/or other hris systems
-create, build, and maintain hipaa ansi 834 files and other data transmission processes
-oversee data mapping processes by managing the entire data conversion process
- analyze data details and accuracy ensuring the data being converted is viable and accurate
- ability to design a software program needed to convert data
-configure complex transmission setup (sftp, ftp)
-maintain and renew established edi files
-resolve data discrepancies from interfaces
-interact with internal and external parties as the ongoing technical support for interface issues
-maintain internal tracking system with project information
-coordinate testing with third parties for interfaces without changes during renewal
-research escalations for ongoing issues
-communicate/coordinate with carriers and internal parties related to interface projects
Skills/qualifications:
· extensive experience with 834 and edi file feed configurations
· experience with data conversion/audit software desired
· advanced computer skills with expert knowledge of microsoft office suite
· prior experience with plansource, ease, employee navigator, or other benefits administration systems is desired
· must be detail-oriented and can consistently meet deadlines
· outstanding time management and organization skills with attention to accuracy and detail
· exceptional oral and written communication and relationship-building skills
· ability to look logically at technology and business-related issues and find or develop solutions
· ability to handle multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment and adapt to change in the workplace
· demonstrated ability to provide guidance, leadership qualities
· should grasp and understand business concepts and issues
· must be a self-starter and be able to work independently with minimal supervision
