Position summary
Reporting to the chief executive officer, the vice president (vp) of engineering will work across the leadership team to define the product roadmap and lead pom’s mobile security solutions, and highly reliable cloud services, to commercial readiness.
The vp of engineering will lead the team(s) and processes to innovate and continuously improve research & development (r&d), technology development, system architecture, new product delivery (npd) and all sustaining engineering functionsCritical to success in this role, is ensuring a scalable, secure, and maintainable cloud solution in line with world class wearable and iot consumer products.
The ideal candidate will be motivated by the challenge of working in a dynamic start-up, delivering pom’s mobile security solution, and ultimately providing people with security and peace of mind.
How you’ll make an impact
Lead all technology development, new product delivery (npd) and sustaining engineering functions, on and offshore teams and outcomes to success
Work across the srLeadership team to develop the appropriate technology & product strategies and deploy successful product roadmaps to meet those strategies
Continuously improve all engineering processes (ieAgile, scrum, sprint, grooming, etc.) and lead the team(s) to success utilizing them
Lead all system level (sit) testing and resolution
Support collaborative learning/feedback sessions and product evolution focus leveraging sales/customer and leadership insight and market trends
Lead the proactive identification of risk, respond to all problems in the development lifecycle and escaping defects in production
What you must bring to this role
10+ years of success leading sustaining engineering, design, development (agile), and product management for cloud applications
Demonstrated success leading hybrid on/offshore development teams
Proven success in engineering & architecting software applications
Success defining product roadmap(s) with a cross-discipline leadership team
Success providing c-suite, technical pre-sales support
Proven success balancing the responsibility of a srLeader with the willingness to contribute individually as well
Success working in a start-up environment
Success both individually developing and leading teams utilizing:
Frameworks: grails, ruby on rails, and reactjs
Sql and nosql databases (at least mysql, postgresql, dynamodb, mongodb)
Microservices
Java, c++, swift
Mobile: objective-c, swift, android
Aws services (e.gLb, ecs, sqs, sns, cloudwatch, lambda, api)
