Responsibilities:
Underwrites life and disability applications within authority limits, including impaired risk, assessing medical and financial risk, and evaluating each requirement as receivedAbility to approve, decline or postpone both life and disability applications.
Communicate effectively with internal and external customersMaintain professional relationships with external customers by communicating effectively and promptly, offering reasonable solutions that meet customer needs while protecting the business objectives
Build and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and management to create an effective, high-performance work environment
Manage assigned workload meeting production and time service standards
Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
5+ years life and disability underwriting experience
Bachelor’s degree or applicable experience
Must demonstrate the ability to make sound underwriting decisions in a dynamic environment while handling a sizeable caseload
Strong communication and relationship management skills are essential
Customer focus
Track record demonstrating good quality and productivity as well as career advancement and increasing approval authority
Industry coursework commensurate with experience
Proven ability to organize and deliver on time with excellent results
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
