Join a team of research, design, build, and integration technologists focused on the execution of rtx strategy to optimize / consolidate data centers across the enterpriseCandidate is required to have excellent technical and communication skills to plan and lead cross functional team initiatives for the company’s data centers – including private cloud, hosting optimization, and data center optimization / consolidation.
A (plan and lead) program manager performs work across the enterprise and each business unitThey are an integral part of the data center team sure that all groups and stakeholders are working together to deliver business value as identified in the initiative scopeThis person will leverage deep project management experiences between application development, systems engineering, scripting, data integration, and operations to support technical workers who execute the production functionsThe program manager works with srLeadership, business units, program / project managers, engineering teams, operations, vendors, msp’s to develop and implement automation within our transition and transformation journey to private cloud.
Responsibilities:
Develop, define, and execute project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, resources, budgets and deliverables.
Manage project risks, issues/problems, and activity progress to ensure project goals (e.g., deadline, scope and quality) are achieved.
Plan and coordinate all aspects of technical projects from initiation through delivery.
Manage project initiation activities, which include the identification of contractual obligations, organizational needs and goals, existing situations, and necessary contacts.
Assign and monitor work of project team, providing technical and analytical support and direction.
Manage the integration of vendor/subcontractor tasks as well as track and review vendor/subcontractor deliverables, if appropriate for the project.
Conduct project closure activities to formalize and communicate the project acceptance, handover documentation, and ongoing activitiesThis includes completing a post-implementation review to identify areas of improvement.
Directly oversee employees assigned to projectSelects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Qualifications
Minimum 7-10+ experience leading infrastructure programs with stakeholders that design, build, secure and operationalize scalable hosting solutions in for multi-tenant data centers with a global footprint preferred
Knowledgeable of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines using both agile and waterfall methodologies
Solid understanding of various types of it project methodologies and life cycles (e.g., conversions, incremental, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation) and the correct project application.
Excellent analysis, problem-solving, team, conflict management, and time management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Possess advanced skills in the use of project management software & ability to manage project budgets and timelines.
Able to consistently set clear expectations, manage team performance, and build high morale among team members.
Successfully maintain confidentiality and carry out assignments that are sensitive in nature.
Education:
Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
