Rippled waters engineering, llc is seeking a junior water resources engineer/environmental scientist/ecologist to join our growing, conservation-minded team based in new jerseyOur small team strives to provide quality designs for restoration focused projects throughout the regionWe are seeking those who have a strong entrepreneurial spirit to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will be hardworking, motivated, and drivenTechnical skills will be learned on the job and provide the ideal person with the ability to apply their passion for the environment into the project designsWork will extend from new england to the mid-atlantic and some travel to job sites as well as overnight stays are possible as part of the project roleProjects will vary in type and scale and may include stream and wetland restoration, living shorelines, and stormwater management design among others.
Primary responsibilities
Supporting stream and wetland design projects
Developing living shoreline restoration design projects
Working on stormwater management projects
Creating design drawings working with the project team
Preparing permit applications for projects to local, state and federal agencies
Preparing construction specifications and cost estimates
Conducting pre- and post-construction monitoring
Providing construction oversight and coordination with contractors
Required skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Project experience related to stream, wetland and/or stormwater management design
Proficient in the use of autocad for the development of design plans
Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic methods
Ability to work both collaboratively in a team environment and independently
Helpful skills
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programs (e.g., tr-55/tr-20, hec-ras, hec-hms, hydrocad)
Experience with esri arcgis / arcgis pro
Geomorphic assessment knowledge/experience (e.g., behi/nbs, longitudinal profiles, wolman pebble counts, etc.)
Sediment testing and analysis experience
Education
B.sOr m.sIn relevant engineering field (e.g., civil, environmental, ecological, biosystems)
Years of experience
1-4 years engineering experience
