Native vmware services (nvs), is looking for a senior devops automation engineer (developer) based in north america to work as part of nvs’s core business unit, cloud operations, work with an experienced development team in bringing the `native vmware services` to the next level.
How you might contribute
Act as a key member of the cloud operations team working with multiple application/lob teams to help transform nvs’s cutting edge, collaborative platform operation to 99.999% availabilityWork with hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Provide robust system ecosystem experience, including ha and dr experience to drive the most resilient and robust sap systems.
Responsible to build automation framework and mechanism to provide iaas, supporting github repos, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
Develop automation framework to improve operation tasks such as infrastructure lifecycle, software and hardware proactive monitoring and remediation actions, patching cycle, system performance improvement in collaboration with system architects.
Secure compute systems by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations.
Other responsibilities might include developing automated ci/cd pipelines, support the release of small features very quickly, compare design and technology options with technical leads, and manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
A successful candidate should
Bachelor`s degree in computer science, engineering, networking and security or a related field of study
5-10 years of development (devops – ci/cd, git) experience and 2 years in testing/benchmarking (postman, ansible-test (compile, sanity, integration, unit)
Have a deep understanding of vmware vsphere and vrealize suite and have several years’ experience in vra/vro development background including automation technologies like ansible/puppet/chef.
Experience in integrations with vra and external tools like servicenow a plus.
Experience in design and development of architectural best practices and implement such practices based on sound testing and validation.
Designing and maintaining of critical system and security infrastructure; datacenter
Some travel required as needed, able to consider remote candidates in the us but all candidates need to already reside in the us, canada, or mexico to be considered
