This role will be responsible for contributing to the software development on the siden hub – a home appliance supporting efficient content distribution of svod offerings using wireless networksResponsibilities will span contributing to the architecture of the software components of the siden hub, having a central role in software development of the siden hub codebase, interfacing aosp and linux oss including participating in any needed extensions, and interfacing with the backend teams to execute an end-to-end content distribution and video delivery serviceSiden is a remote first and diverse engineering culture spanning the globeWe strive for enabling deep technical ownership, mentoring, and fostering technical and personal growth.
Requirements:
Strong experience with key components of os and middleware layer sdks across at least linux and android, especially with regard to enabling use of devices as high performance local compute and media servers
Solid experience with cdn and distributed cloud architectures, as instantiated on home appliances and user devices, including caches, local proxies, service discovery, real-time ip networking, client-sides of ip protocol stacks, and client-side containerization
Demonstrated experience delivering robust, scalable, hardware / software designs targeted at the consumer
Experience with video services, ott video service transcoding, drm, delivery, and serving is helpful
Expert knowledge of native application development, specifically android/ios and other embedded platforms.
Flexibility to contribute to client-side user application development across ui and ux, especially on androidtv platform is a plus
Agile software development management and distributed team collaboration
Experience with embedded linux systems is a plus.
