Full job description
An s88 vehicle patrol officer is an officer whose patrol duty is performed in a signal 88 security vehicleThis vehicle is fully equipped with graphics, a gps mapping device, a mobile phone and a light bar and go lightThe vehicle patrol duty is a demanding and high priority positionThe officers working should be thorough, efficient and highly trainedThe officers must maintain the schedule and also address any security needs as they arise.
The hours for this position are generally from 7pm-4am or 8pm-5am.
Pay rate is $16.00-$18.00/hour.
******if hired between oct 1st - oct 30th and working a minimum of 30 hours per week - there will be a $500 bonus (bonus will be issued after working the minimum hour requirement with no call offs and/or write ups for 6 months - weekends required) ******
Responsibilities:
The officer will patrol through the entire property (there will be multiple properties on a route)
This includes parking lots and rear of the property at a speed of approximately 5-10mph.
Vehicle windows down.
Radio down to hear outside noise or parties.
Light bar lights flashing front and rear with the side lights on to help see damage.
Go-light on and in use shining throughout the property at suspicious locations.
Eyes looking at various locations where there may be potential for crime.
Hazard lights flashing throughout patrol.
Officer should be attentive and off of the phone and any other distractions.
The officer will be looking for any suspicious activity to include:
Unauthorized vehicles.
Cars that have been broken into.
People trespassing or loitering.
Trash out of place.
Store lighting out or broken.
Other items that are not normal to the property.
Door check: at the time where all employees have left, the officer is expected to check every door of the location to ensure that the last employee locked up and has set all necessary alarms.
Lighting, trash and security assessments: it is expected of officers during the patrols to provide the customer if applicable; lighting, trash and security assessmentsThese consist of notifying the customers via reports of all necessary lights that are out, trash that is not disposed of properly and any potential areas that there could be a breach of security (no fence, hole in fence, overgrown trees or bushes to hide in etc.).
Reporting: during every tour of the property it is imperative that the officer report information in detail of all that they saw during the patrolThis is the means by which the customer has assurance that the property was patrolled on any given period of timeRefer to the operations manual activity reporting for details on how to write clear and accurate reports.
Qualifications and skills:
Must be able to pass a nationwide background check with a clean record
Must have a valid driver`s license
Must have a clean driving record
Must have a working smart phone
Must be at least 21 years old and eligible to work for any employer in the us
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to pass a drug test
Must have good understanding of the english language, both verbal and written
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Must be available to work overnight, weekends, and holidays
Must have good communication skills as you will be interacting with various individuals
