Essential duties and responsibilities
Provide technical and team leadership in the linux driver implementation, and testingBe able to create images for custom boards with linux.
Work with drivers on hardware primarily running on linux.
Work on android open source project(aosp)/android bsp.
Deliver innovative solutions that increase performance, usability, and fit for our target customers.
Implement standards-based communication protocols and related technologies
Provide aggressive, attainable goals and time frames
Drive standards based architectures and supporting services
Follow engineering best practices in a team environment to develop high-quality products.
Contribute to the overall architecture and product development.
Knowledge/skills/abilities required
Strong understanding of linux internals especially for ubuntu 18 and/or 20.
Experience in working on linux kernel, uboot, device-tree and device drivers.
Extensive knowledge of virtual file systems like /proc, /dev and /sys.
Experience in some of the shell( bash, ksh,ash etc).
Experience in working on the vendor specific modules and hal layer in android bsp for android 11.
Experience in building images for custom boards.
Strong skills in performance improvement of linux based systems and optimizing the software and disk usage.
Solid knowledge of concurrency and its patterns.
Must possess good communication skills and be eager to work in a team environment with other dedicated engineers
Strong knowledge of c and c++
Experience with tools like git and repo.
Must be able to effectively communicate using written english, and spoken english
Must be able to effectively participate in and lead technical discussions with team members and other teams
Experience/education/certifications
Bs degree in cs, ee, or equivalent with excellent grades
8+ years of experience working with state-of-the-art embedded software applications.
2+ years of experience with writing drivers in linux platform.
3-5 years of experience with c/c++
2+ years of experience in customizing android bsp code.
Bonus experience
Strong understanding on bluetooth driver implementation.
Understanding on audio drivers and tinyalsa or alsa would be preferred.
Good understanding on solid/software design patterns.
Additional knowledge and programming skills in cmake, jni, java and python would be preferred.
Good understanding on compatibility test suite( cts).
Understand various hardware components and their corresponding software modules.

Must be able to work at a computer for a full workday
Must be able to use a keyboard and mouse, or equivalent
Must be able to view a computer monitor
This position will be in a typical office environment with employees working in cubicles.
