Sports basement is looking for an entry-level it support specialist to join our dynamic and growing technology teamAs a member of the it team, you’ll support the technology needs of our customer care department and retail stores teams and service the hardware, software, and networks they depend onOn a typical day, the it support specialist might rebuild a slow-running desktop, troubleshoot a faulty network jack, reset user passwords, participate in a meeting about a new store opening, or investigate a service outage with one of our data providersSome of these tasks will have structure, some will require creating a structure on the fly – the only thing for sure is that no two days are alike around hereSince the position is entry-level no previous work experience is required, but you do need a basic understanding of how computers workWhat you will do
Support it infrastructure including desktops, laptops, tablets, software, phone system, pos system, and vpn/internet access
Keep current systems updated and running smoothly by performing routine maintenance and upgrades
Have a vehicle to make store visits on a regular basis (mileage reimbursement)
Monitor a help desk ticketing system, troubleshoot issues, and provide excellent support to all end-users
Communicate effectively with sports basement employees by setting expectations and providing timely updates until issues are resolved
Identify support trends and escalate issues of concern to the senior administrators
Configure new computers and assist with hardware and software installations
Set up user accounts and permissions for new users
Instruct users about computer, software and network usage and maintenance
Help roll out process and systems changes, training users, and easing adoption
Other special projects as assigned

In this job you can either work from home or work from one of our awesome storesBut travel will be required so means of transportation is a mustYou will need to be able to travel between stores on a regular basis, mileage will be reimbursed.
We ask that you are flexible with your scheduleThe schedule will primarily be weekdays, but on occasion evening/weekends will be needed.
