Job description
We are looking for a security software engineering manager to join the access engineering teamOur mission is to provide a platform for auditable access control that supports engineers and services wherever they may be - in the cloud, in our data centers, or in a hybrid model across the twoIn this leadership role, you will be responsible for developing the individuals on the team and the roadmap for square’s access platform.
Qualifications
You will:
Lead a team of security-minded software engineers working on tools and infrastructure to keep square secure.
Partner with your team and teams across security, platform engineering, it, and data security governance to develop the strategy and plan the roadmap for the team.
Design, develop, and own the authorization platform for square`s evolving corporate and production landscapes.
Cultivate pragmatic engineering decision-making by fostering inclusive conversations and leveraging your technical expertise to constantly raise the bar.
Grow the team by coaching engineers, promoting quality, and hiring new talent that complements the existing skills on the team.
Contribute to the monitoring and stability of the team’s existing engineering solutions.
Work in any square office location or remotely in the usa or canadaOccasional travel may be required.
You have:
5+ years experience directly managing software engineers, including hiring, coaching, and managing performance.
5+ years of building, architecting, and maintaining systems as a software engineer.
A proven ability to provide technical mentorship and guidance for your team.
Experience working with other engineering leaders and cross-functional team members.
Significantly contributed to or have worked closely with engineering solutions for authorization at scale.
