What you will be doing
We are seeking an experienced qa tester who will, working from the comfort of your home office, be responsible for testing various aspects of the business’ technology stack, developing testing procedures, and reporting issues to development as a member of the remote it development team, the ideal qa tester is an individual with a strong technical background who relishes complex problems, is an analytical thinker, and has a keen eye for details.
Duties / responsibilities:
Manual functional, regression and acceptance testing of web / database applications, giving feedback to the development.
Testing layout and interface usability, giving feedback to the developmentConduct testing to ensure products perform according to user requirements and within established guidelines.
Design test cases, test plan and prepare the environment.
Because of the in-depth knowledge of the system, help other developers and business units, to provide insight where any problems could occur.
Look for user experience improvements.
How you qualify
Required skills / abilities:
Understanding development processes and needs.
Ability to draw up test cases by the name of the problem, generate a checklist, predict the behavior of the system.
Additional experience considered a strong plus:
Ability to write simple sql queries (update, join, where).
Ability to send requests to the server without a web interface.
Knowledge of programming or scripting language such as javascript or python.
High level of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to test a system using techniques such as unit testing, run manual test cases, design a integration vs unit vs manual strategy, design a test reporting system, run load testing, figure out benchmarks.
Understanding of working with git.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Familiar with postman/insomnia or similar tools.
Experience with power bi.
Education and/or experience:
· four-year college degree in a related field.
· 2-4 years of professional experience.
· demonstrated experience with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity.
· previous experience in telecommunications a plus.
