Trb + associates is seeking an experienced and motivated licensed plan review engineer with a minimum of two years’ experience in plan review and/or design on commercial, industrial, and residential projects, with some mechanical, electrical, and plumbing experienceThe ideal candidate will be a licensed professional engineer or a registered architectJoin a growing municipal services consulting firm with clients throughout california.

Essential job duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Review building plans and prepare written comment letters on building design submittals.
Review plans for structural and/or non-structural disciplines.
Perform short-term on-site plan review assignments.
Attend clients’ and/or project team meetings.
Assist clients and project team by providing interpretations of building codes and related standards.
Assist quality control team on plan review issues.
Assist document control team on project information, status and schedule.
Job requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, mechanical, or architectural engineering from an accredited university or college.
At least two (2) years of experience working as a plan check engineer or plans examiner on building structures.
Current registration as a civil, structural, mechanical or architect (state of california preferred).
Certification as an icc building plans examiner is preferred.
An in-depth understanding of the california building standards codes and related standards is essential.
Working knowledge of office computer software (i.eWord, excel, outlook, etc.)
Strong verbal, written communication skills and a problem solver.
Valid california driver’s license.
