Your opportunity:
In this full-time position with techsource you will support los alamos national laboratories (lanl) to deliver a new national nuclear security administration (nnsa) flash x-ray radiography capability at the nevada national security site (nnss)This radiography capability is a multi-pulse linear induction accelerator, nicknamed scorpius, to be commissioned at the nnss.
You will perform mechanical analysis work, using ansysIn addition, you will oversee and review 3d models and drawings with the use of creo and pdm-link/windchillThis work will be performed remotely.
What you will do:
· perform complex thermal and structural analysis using ansys.
· oversee and review high-quality engineering assembly and component manufacturing drawings to asme y14.5 standards.
· adapt to evolving research and development (r&d) analysis requirements while meeting safety, security, compliance, and schedule imperatives.
· collaborate and coordinate with other engineers and designers to address analysis, design, and manufacturability issues.
What you will need:
· 10 or more years of work experience performing analysis work, including thermal or structural analysis.
· bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
· 6 or more years of experience using creo for 3d cad modeling and engineering drawings.
· experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (gd&t), per asme y14.5, 2009+ engineering drawing standard.
· pdm-link/windchill or similar product data management library tools.
· experience with complex precision mechanical design of structures, systems, and components, with due consideration to design for manufacturability.
· excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
· us citizenship, due to the nature of the export control access, and not a dual citizen.
