The applications engineer acts as an iwarehouse solutions consultant for the telematics product line to raymond customers and is responsible for determining requirements, product selection, customer operational recommendations and for supporting proposal generation for potential customersThis engineer would also work on customer deployments in coordination with internal iwarehouse teamsThe successful candidate will define and document best practices, develop unique solutions, and enable customers to perform application-specific tasksThis position requires day-to-day interaction with internal/external sales management, sales, engineering, product development, and customersWill be required to work with development engineering teams to understand new products and to provide feedback of current products to those internal development teamsWill have project management responsibility for projectsWorks with minimal supervision on medium/high complexity projectsHandles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to othersTravel anticipated to be 20%-40%.
Job responsibilities
Self-starter displaying ownership for all facets of the role including but not limited to technical issues, customer issues, and documentation in an evolving role;
Identifies and quantifies proposed customer benefits and creates, utilizes, and maintains tools to quantify these benefits;
Travels to customer sites as needed to study and gather information critical to the overall system;
Assists sales team with pre-sales customer support and presentations;
Works with partners to develop complete solutions;
Defines and documents best practices and standard work documentation and works to continuously improve them;
Maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications;
Trains other employees, partners and advocates for this process;
Works effectively in groups;
Possesses effective written and oral communication skills;
Has the ability to present technical material to a technically diverse audience;
Provides timely post-implementation support to customers and internal stakeholders;
Ability to flex hours to support customer deployments.
A bachelor`s degree in a related engineering field such as software, electrical, industrial, computer, computer science or computer information systems is required.
One or more years of applications engineering experience is required.
Experience with product management and development software, preferred.
Material handling industry experience with distribution and manufacturing a plus.
Standard work/scope of work creation and process development a plus.
