Our pursuit
At the sunshine method, we pursue equity in educationWe pursue opportunities to build strong communities where every child has access to a quality educationAnd through our pursuit, we believe we can create a world that regardless of a child’s circumstances, they will have access to every opportunity, tool, and resource necessary to reach their fullest potential.
Who we are:
We understand the value that each person’s story brings to shaping our collective futureAnd by taking education out of the classroom and directly to the children’s homes, we commit ourselves to leveling the playing field so that all children have an opportunity to succeed.
Our method’s holistic approach to education integrates individual tutoring and mentoring to empower children in all areas of lifeSince 2012,the sunshine method has made the commitment to support communities that need it most, focusing our efforts on providing quality education, mentorship and advocacy to thousands of children in foster care, children’s hospitals, special needs programs, refugee programs, from low income communities, and the private sector to help bridge the educational achievement gap.
At our core:
We are advocates.
We ask questions, we follow up, we show up, we pick up the phone, and we provide whatever tools and resources we can to stand in the gap and prevent children and their families from being overlooked or ignored.
We are driven.
Each day we wake up motivated by the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of children and their families that we may never meet in person.
We are all humans.
And we all inhabit this planet togetherThus we give respect to each and every person we interact with regardless of where they come from.
We make learning a daily habit.
We remind ourselves of why we do what we do in the first place - because we believe in the power of education to change the worldWe learn something new, we challenge our ideas, we are open minded, and we share that knowledge with those around us for our collective betterment.
