Position details
The project control specialist will be leading the development & implementation of project controls processes & systems, reporting on cost & schedule for construction projects, ensuring compliance to controls procedures, and supporting project delivery on assigned projectsThe successful candidate will be an analytical, data-driven problem solver with the drive to introduce value and create innovative solutions.
The role requires a smart, motivated, change agent with the ability to influence stakeholders, build collaborative partnerships necessary to define & implement project reporting procedures related to mission-critical construction projects throughout the us for tilson’s high-profile telecommunication clients.
Responsibilities
Assist project managers and the project team in effectively and proactively managing projects to ensure project success.
Develops the work breakdown structures for control and integrity of work to be performed as defined by the contract.
Develop, maintain, and execute project performance baselines.
Perform cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
Prepare & disseminate aggregated weekly & monthly reports on cost performance, trends, forecasts, and cost savings.
Develop and maintain project schedules.
Assists in the development of recommended recovery measures for projects behind schedule and/or over budget.
Analyzes variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan, and communicates the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans
Reviews schedules developed by others and advise project managers as to whether those schedules are logical, complete, and satisfy contract requirements.
Prepare detailed schedule reports as required (e.g., critical path view, baseline vsActual, look ahead view, milestone view).
Provide support for data analysis, data validation & data mining efforts required to refine benchmarks.
Coordinates the review of project risk with management and provides status reporting.
Support the project manager and project team in organizational and administrative activities.
Qualifications
3+ years related work experience required.
Associate’s degree
Strong written and oral communication skills
Planning, organizing and time management skills relevant to a construction environment.
Analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to a construction environment.
Advanced knowledge and experience with various microsoft office tools such as access, excel, microsoft word, microsoft projects, power point, and visio
Ability to deal with multiple, concurrent and rapidly changing demands.
Ability to interact, partner, and influence internal and external customers, as well as various levels of management
