About traive:
Traive ’s founders worked more than a decade in the heart of agriculture and ag-finance in brazil, the world`s largest exporter of many commodities such as soybeans, corn, cotton, sugar, coffee and soybeansThey spent many years in business development for agriculture in some of the world’s biggest commodities trading houses, and land funds in brazil, as well as in financial markets for commodities derivatives and agriculture credit structuringDuring this time, they witnessed the huge gap in the financial market for small and medium sized farmers, especially those whose financial needs were too big to rely only on subsidies or microfinance, and were too small to encourage traditional lenders to cater to their needs (hence, they are called the “missing middle farmers”) they noted how this large sector suffers from lack of affordable financial tools, simply because the financial market is shaped around the needs and characteristics of the big farmersThe inefficient and cost-prohibitive process of reaching out to the missing middle farmers makes conducting a thorough credit risk assessment impossible or unworthy for many lendersThis is the main reason behind their financial exclusion, and the reason why many have gone bankrupt during the last decade, leading to very complex social and financial problems around the world.
This is why traive was born in 2017We are a mission-driven, high performing and dynamic team whose strength lies in its diverse backgrounds and a shared vision: bridging the financial gap for the farmers, so that they have more affordable, fair and timely access to the financial resources they need to prosperAs a traive member, you will not be just doing your daily tasks, but you will see how your every contribution relates to the company’s vision and impacts the worldFrom the onset, the leadership team is committed to provide a safe and fostering culture where everyone is engaged throughout the product life cycle, every voice can be heard and every opinion counts.
Incorporated both in brazil and the us, traive’s offices are in são paulo, minneapolis and boston.
