Trimble ag is seeking a vehicle controls systems engineer with firmware experience to join their vehicle steering and guidance teamThe trimble ag vehicle steering and guidance team is the industry leader in semi-autonomous vehicle steering systems for a variety of vehicles/applications in agriculture/farming.
The candidate would be joining the core development team for these systemsWork would include developing/maintaining core algorithms for steering/automating agricultural vehicles (tractors, harvesters, combines, sprayers, etc...), using matlab/simulink to model/develop/maintain the systems, analyzing and tweaking vehicle performance, and integrating functionality into releasable products.
Requirements:
5+ years work experience in the design, development and productization of control law algorithms.
Demonstrated experience with matlab/simulink and model-based design (mbd)
Experience with sensor fusion and filter design (e.g lkf, ekf) for pose/velocity estimation
Familiarity with signal conditioning and feedback loop compensation (e.gNotch, lead-lag filters)
Experience in the development, characterization and validation of non-linear vehicle dynamics plant models
Experience developing embedded real-time c/c++ software
Demonstrated and progressive system/software architecture experience
Understanding of the value and importance of ongoing testing and testability in building quality products
Curious and motivated
Desired experience:
Functional controls experience, specifically in the agriculture industry is highly desired (but not required), including on ground experience with tractors, combines, harvesters, etc…
Advanced degrees are highly desirable.
Proficiency in production-grade c/c++ software development
Familiarity with test driven development and continuous integration/deployment workflow
Experience with configuration management and issue tracking tools
Hil and sil testing
Simulink auto-code generation
Gnss+imu based navigation
Autonomous/semi-autonomous vehicle control
Experience with requirements decomposition and management tools (specifically, polarian)
Experience with systems identification, simmechanics, simscape and robotics toolboxes
Safety-critical software development and certification
Bonus experience:
Missile, ship, submarine, or autonomous vehicle guidance, navigation, control background
