Job description
The information security engineer will identify and communicate penetration testing results to stake holders, requestors, and update findings in the system of recordThis position will focus on retesting of existing findings, using documentation provided by the original test to determine if the systems have been successfully remediatedPerforms the daily operation and execution of security-related tools, processes and controls related to cyber defense initiativesLooks for ways to optimize security processes and recommend opportunities and solutions for improvement and automationServes as technical and function subject matter expert across multiple security domain areas, raising awareness and communicating security risks within the companySupports and participates in incident response and technical investigations as neededEnsures adherence to compliance regulations and policies.
Basic qualifications
Bachelor`s degree in engineering or science, or equivalent work experience
Valid penetration testing certification, such as oscp (if no prior experience)
Understanding of kali linux and its toolset
Basic knowledge of python
Additional required skills/experience
1+ years working knowledge of it environment (could be part of advanced education curriculum) including service-oriented (soa) and it architecture, industry trends and direction, system and technology integration, and it standards, procedures and policies, and emerging technologies
1+ years experience performing technical troubleshooting
1+ years working knowledge of information assurance
Working proficiency of various technology tools (unix/linux, metasploit, ssl scanning, tenable)
Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with co-workers, customers and management
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred skills/experience
Working knowledge of information security architecture, security technologies, administration, audits, network and internet security, and computer crime
Basic knowledge of it audit and control, governance, asset management, software licensing, product and vendor evaluation, and training delivery
Working knowledge of it systems management including change control, software process improvement, and technical writing/documentation
Experience with network controls
Python or other development skills would be a nice to have.
