Requirements:
Your day-to-day:
Following itil best practices and as part of the tier iii support team, provide subject matter expertise while engaging in incident management, request fulfillment, problem management and change management of tasks assigned to the tier iii support team
Manage system performance and troubleshoot issues related to physical iseries servers
Perform patches and updates, in line with company policy and processes, related to iseries servers
Design, implement and maintain a comprehensive monitoring and alerting process across ibm i platform (power 9 is preferred)
Identify and implement technical innovation and process improvement opportunities
Design and implement a comprehensive and ongoing release management and planning program
Research and implement appropriate system administration best practices, and tools
Monitor and manage backups
Experience in as400 security management, communications, operating system upgrades, independent auxiliary storage pools (iasp`s), and storage based replication
Experience in high availability software and multiple data centers
In line with it quality assurance guidelines, develop and engage in quality assurance testing of service changes
Participate in the after-hours `on-call` support of the business
Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by leadership
Requirements:
4-year technical degree with 4-years’ applicable experience or 8-years’ applicable experience preferred
Itil experience preferred
Retail grocery knowledge preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Team oriented
Time management
Ability to work quickly and decisively under pressure
Analytical thinker
Customer service oriented
Process improvement oriented
Performed at least one major system hardware and operating system upgrade
Performed at least one full system restore (site-down / crash)
Experience with halcyon replication tools desired
Experience in using journaling, especially remote journaling
Itil foundations certification (preferred)
Ibm system administrator ibmi certification (preferred)
Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug test, as urm is a drug free workplace (including marijuana)
