Mechanical design engineer

Currently we are seeking to expand our engineering staff and are seeking an experienced machine design engineerDepending on the applicant, the job can be done remotely or in a hybrid work schedule (remote & office).
Job requirements include:
Develop complete machinery, equipment and automation solutions.
Communicate with project managers and other engineers to ensure all functional requirements for design activities are met.
Generate the necessary engineering drawings required including assembly drawings with boms and detailed manufacturing drawings.
Excellent working knowledge of gd&t.
Generating complex bill of materials.
Work with local vendors to source components that are not “off the shelf” items.
Work alone or in a group setting to develop equipment designs that exceed customer expectations.
Communicate with customers through design process to ensure requirements are understood and communicated within the organization.
Must have ability to handle multiple design projects and prioritize tasks in order to meet project deadlines.
Ability to work a project from concept to manufacturing in a small company environment.
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when required to meet project deadlines.
Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sitesTravel approximately 10%.
Experience should include:
Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, bsme or 10+ years’ experience with heavy mechanical design experience in machinery and/or complex automation systems.
Working knowledge of 3d cad, autodesk inventor preferred.
Extensive experience with 3d mechanical design of large, complex systems.
Strong knowledge of moving mechanism and machine design, component part design, sheet metal and machined part processes – knowledge of material processing and handling, automation components, welded structures, etcRobot experience is a plus.
Must have excellent computer proficiency including use of general applications such as microsoft word, excel and outlook.
