Primary responsibilities:
Direct, manage and lead a team in the development and execution of category management strategies, sourcing / rfx processes, contract negotiations, vendor management and financial analysis efforts across the enterprise in direct and custom mail print services
Lead team in the review, development, redlining, and negotiation of third-party vendor contracts, including master services agreements (msas), statements of work (sows), non-disclosure agreements (ndas) and amendments in cooperation with legal, internal stakeholders and external business partners.
Lead and develop and direct supplier negotiation strategies to optimize value, quality, innovation, performance and risk mitigation.
Lead and execute market research, benchmarking and spend analysis as needed in order to proactively identify emerging opportunities and translate into category and sourcing strategy action plans
Lead and monitor supplier performance management initiatives including conducting key supplier quarterly business reviews
Develop strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders in order to support business objectives, revenue growth opportunities, supplier innovation and cost reduction
Maintain compliance with all government regulations and internal policies and procedures related to sourcing and vendor contract obligations
Identify diverse supplier sourcing and contracting opportunities and support related initiatives
Partner with enterprise sourcing & procurement (es&p) peers, legal, enterprise information security, finance and unitedhealth group’s business units as required to achieve results.
Provide leadership, direction and development opportunities for direct reports as assigned

Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
6+ years of demonstrated procurement experience including category management, strategic sourcing experience, constructing and negotiating complex contracts and statements of work
5+ years of experience in a print procurement role
Experience directly managing and leading teams
Experienced and highly skilled at communicating and relationship building
If located near minnetonka, mn, you will be asked to perform this role in an office setting.
Preferred qualifications:
5+ years of experience in print and/or direct mail operations
