As a senior technical writer @ wingify, you design and develop learning and practicing experiences with the intent of facilitating learners in acquiring knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and appealing mannerAlso, you must be able to convert the highly complex and technical knowledge into readable and concise functional descriptions for a different set of audiences.
Responsibilities
Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content
Work with subject matter experts to identify the target audience’s training needs
Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product
Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
Proofread and edit documentation to ensure consistency of language and style, as well as technical accuracy
Create illustrations, diagrams, and other visuals that explain technical concepts
Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course
Record video tutorials that show how to use technical products
Ability to write effective instructional text, audio, and video scripts
Train educators and students to use the online learning system
Ability to deliver in fast and work with multiple agile teams for weekly releases
Writing technical documentation for our core product http://vwo.com/
Working with the engineering team to document new product features.
Updating current knowledge base documentation
Developing processes and systems for quick-turnarounds of technical documentation
Required skills and experience
Experience as a technical writer : 4-7 years
Should know the basics of the learning management system
Has a proven track record of developing academy and certification-related content which includes video series, documentation, etc.
Should have strong technical skills and a passion to learn newer technologies
Should have the ability to whiteboard ideas for learning materials and develop presentation slides
Must have the necessary writing and editing expertise and authoring tools to develop appropriate role-specific documents
Should have the ability to find new and exciting ways to present the information to a different set of audiences
Should know how the technology works and be able to curate it in a readable, concise and accurate manner
Should be able to determine the documentation needs, understand user requirements and create/design documentation accordingly
Must ensure that all information is consistent, easy to understand, and well organized
Should be comfortable working independently as well as part of a bigger team
