Working with the ui team, you will be developing solutions to support customers running their applications in virtualized environmentsWe build web-based ui components and interfaces which provide a consistent experience across all vmware products, running in data centers and in the cloudIf you would like to join a team that strives to be the best in the industry and provides you an opportunity to continually learn, this is the team for you!
Within 30 days of employment, you will build a foundation for being an effective team memberYou will get to know the team, engineering processes, and some of the technologies we supportYour journey of learning will just be beginning!
Within 60 days of employment, you will be taking on more tasks independentlyYou should have a solid understanding of how we operate day to day, how all of our tools work, and how we build quality into everything we deliver.
Within 90 days, you will have interacted with people outside of your immediate team, building relationships that will last through your career here at vmwareYou will continue to learn how the features work end-to-endIt’s likely you will have had an opportunity to work with our phenomenal ux team at vmware.
As part of this team, you will:
Develop interfaces to support a variety of features using angular, typescript, redux patterns, and different test tools including cypress
Work with ui team members along with backend developers, user experience (ux), product management, and others
Participate in agile practice rituals, e.gDaily standups, sprint planning, etc
Take advantage of the many programs at vmware to experiment and present new ideas (technical papers at the annual r&d conference, hackathons, etc.)
Explore avenues for innovation, such as filing patents for new ideas with support from vmware to make it happen.

Fixed: this role is based out of vmware’s palo alto, ca and open to candidates in the surrounding area.
Flexible: the location of this role is flexible within the bay areaWork will be done from an office some days during a week and other days from a non-vmware building.
