Tanzu mission control is a new cloud service that is part of the vmware tanzu portfolioVmware tanzu portfolio enables enterprises to adopt cloud native technologies and automate the modern application lifecycle on any cloudTanzu mission control is designed to give customers a single pane of glass for all their kubernetes clusters so they can monitor, verify, apply policy, back-up and restore with ease.
What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
We need someone who can collaborate with product management and engineering teams to design, develop, test, release and operate cloud services that provide top notch user experiences with high scalability and availability.
Success in the role: what are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
You will implement modules in microservices in go languageYour code needs to have readability, extensibility and good quality.
You will write unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality.
You will be expected to show case your ability to troubleshoot and mitigate issues in production.
You will first be guided in completing projectsWith growth of your experience, you will be expected to independently solve problems and complete projects.
You will be regularly evaluated on the quality of the product you create and the code you write to ensure continued advancement of your technical skills in an environment that looks to expand them.
What type of work will you be doing? what assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Most of your time will be spent writing high-quality code with excellent code coverage using goYou can expect to be the owner and take accountability for the quality of your code.
Under the guidance of senior team members, you will have opportunities to improve your system design and component design skills.
You will collaborate with teammates to solve problems during service development lifecycle.
You will collaborate with other functions such as program management, qe engineers, and sre engineers to improve the product.
You will take on-call responsibilities to ensure smooth operation of microservices this team owns.

The hiring manager for this role is sudheer gollapudi who manages the data platform team which is part of tmc fleet services teamThe team consists of five engineers and the mission of the team is to build a platform to stream, process, provide query-ability and draw intelligence from all data collected from kubernetes clusters managed by tmc and build an event hub that connects tanzu events with customer applications.

Where is this role located?
Remote: this role is fully remote and can be done anywhere in north america (us/canada).
