The elevator pitch: why will you enjoy this new opportunity?
The networking and security business group (nsbg) is on a journey to develop saas offerings for its applications such as firewall, management plane, load balancers etcOur team is trying to build out a common saas infrastructure for nsbg servicesThis opportunity would provide you with a leadership role to deliver a highly elastic, scalable, resilient, and distributed saas infrastructure while managing a team of talented engineersYou will get to work on exciting new technologies to build out scalable microservices.
Success in the role: what are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
You should be passionate and very driven to be successful in this roleAbility to work in a fast-paced organizationWork with various nsx leads to define a scalable architecture for nsx common services frameworkSetup a technical roadmap for the team, mentor engineers and get them ramped up quickly on the necessary technical stack.
The work: what type of work will you be doing? what assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Responsible for defining the overall architecture and key components for the nsx saas infra servicesAbility to set clear technical roadmap for the teamArticulate clear milestones, drive daily standups with engineers, work with management team to set expectations on deliverablesYou should have hands on knowledge of microservice architectures (k8s, ci/cd pipelines) and associated frameworks (apache kafka, spring boot, grpc etc.) and programming languages (go lang, java, python), cloud databases & storage technologies (rds, ebs etc)A saas background where you have been developing and operating a service is highly desirableThis role would also be a pathway to grow into an engineering management role 6-12 months in the future depending on your leadership aspirations.
