What you`ll bring
Training and experienceBs degree or higher in computer engineering, computer science, or similar plus seven or more years of experience as a software engineer
Programming languagesExpert knowledge of c++ including facility with object-oriented c++ developmentExposure to a scripting language such as python.
Windows operating system5 years in depth experience with windowsThis would include experience with user-space and windows kernel/ system-level development and experience writing windows kernel drivers,
Wide scopeAbility to contribute to all areas of the software development process (software design, new-feature development, testing, debugging and problem diagnosis, and quality)Flexibility to contribute to different components of the endpoint product, such as system services, instrumentation, installers and, occasionally, user-interfaceComfort working with complex, mission-critical systems.
Quality orientationExperience and passion for developing high quality code – writing unit, functional, and system tests for the verification and validation of production code.

What you`ll do
Software developmentDrive feature work on the windows endpoint for the vmware carbon black endpoint detection and response product.
Software designContribute to product direction by leading design discussions and collaborating with team architects, product management, endpoint, backend, and front-end engineers to deliver the right solution
Software roadmapRecommend new features, technologies, tools, process improvementsContinuously improve the customer experience, quality, performance, and stability of the existing products
LeadershipLead projects and the delivery of multiple features with a minimum of guidancePlan and schedule work and tasks across multiple features, manage dependencies, change and riskPlan, design, develop, document, own, and maintain multiple features through the complete software development lifecycle evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, tools, and procedures in the delivery of features.
MentorshipLead and contribute to code reviews and give considered, high-quality feedbackDeliver technical training and training materials for other functional organizations in the companyProvide technical supervision and mentoring of one or more engineersProactively identify potential pitfalls in proposed software designsContribute to code reviews and give constructive, high-quality feedback.
TroubleshootingAnalyze, isolate and resolve problems in product software with minimal guidanceRespond to high-priority issues quickly and drive them to resolution and customer satisfaction.
Bonus points for:
Experience with agile, docker, git, jenkins, continuous integration, tdd
Experience with distributed enterprise level applications (client/server)
Experience with network security, and general familiarity with software security concepts, challenges, and paradigms a strong plus
