Vanta leagues – youth developmental esports coach
About the company
Vanta leagues is a youth esports development program that provides expert coaching and mentorship for kids ages 9-14 through our team-based learning platform and competitive leagues.
With vanta, kids can play online with their peers in a safe, structured, and supervised environment – all while growing as a gamer and learning valuable life skills.
About the role
This is a contract role that is aligned with the vanta leagues core operationThis role will allow you to work with gamers on our platform developing both their in-game skills as well as their social/emotional skills helping to craft better gamer-citizens.
This role will require you to leverage expert knowledge of the video game you will be coachingYou will be expected to take the training vanta leagues provide you along with the outlined curriculum that has been developed for the game you are coaching and apply those learnings in a constructive way to develop the next generation of gamersCoaches will be expected to use the provided curriculums and develop detailed practice plans and strategies to help their teams learn and grow in the gameAdditionally, coaches will be expected to help develop the gamers as virtual citizens teaching them important lessons about teamwork, leadership, and how to treat people properly online.
As a vanta coach you will have numerous opportunities to earn revenue as a league coach, as a coach for summer camps offered through our program, and through potential 1x1 coaching sessions if you earn a high enough certification through our coach training program.
What you’ll do...
Create detailed practice plans for two practices per week
Guide your team through their weekly competitions and game days
Attend specialized coaching development training in order to effectively guide the next generation of gamers
Manage not only in-game development of players, but also guide them in social/emotional learning and development
Appropriately manage and assist young gamers and their emotional responses to games
Mentor the youth gamers assigned to your team and demonstrate what a good gamer-citizen looks like
Report on your teams attendance to vanta staff/moderators
Work with vanta staff/moderators to help manage emotional outbursts
What you bring...
Expert video-game knowledge in either rocket league, league of legends, or valorant
Experience coaching/working with youth
Great remote-based communication skills
High personal integrity in order to work in a company built on trust
Self-discipline and motivation necessary to work in a digital environment
A strong sense of dedication to make vanta a phenomenal company
Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with discord, slack, google meets, zoom, and other modern business communication tools
A strong sense of pride in your work and a desire to make the vanta product exceptional for our customers
