Responsibilities
End-to-end feature development from ui implementation all the way through the middleware and backend platform
Responsible for the architectural design of all software products ensuring that they use appropriate up to date technologies and that they are designed with a strong focus on data security and a consistent devops framework to meet availability, site reliability and interoperability in a regulated healthcare setting.
Interpret business requirements to provide technical guidance of the software development required to address those requirements.
Be part of an agile team to develop a scalable, highly available application platform.
Work closely with product managers, testers and application architects.
Document and communicate clearly architecture and implementation solutions.
Define technical product specifications to ensure the development of scalable, high-quality products.
Participate in defining client requirements, assisting internal customers to express their needs.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring and leadership to our development team.
Drive a security coding best practice in our software development lifecycle to mitigate software vulnerabilitiesE.g., coding standards, code reviews, owasp top 10.
Resolve architectural and design problems and address other concerns as necessary.
Suggest and implement devops tooling and process improvements to achieve a seamless automated ci/cd pipeline.
Drive and maintain a strong focus on ease of system integration, interoperability and sustainability of the solution.
Work on key systems like payment gateway, fraud & tax services, subscription services, health systems and integration with business-critical systems like crm, order management system and other.
Be an active contributor of technical best practices, code and development standards and ensure their adherence within team.
Keep up to date with latest technical trends, propose and conduct r&d projects
Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to allow for continuous improvements in areas of site resiliency, availability, scalability, and security.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience in computer information systems, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in analysis, design, development, and integration of software products
Minimum 2 years as an architect working in a development environment.
Minimum 5 years experience architecting and building large-scale software solutions that deliver high availability, site resiliency, scalability, and security for high volume usage.
Experience working within an agile team.
Design experience with rest apis
Experience developing software utilizing various coding languages such as typescript, kotlin, java and proficiency with node.js, sql, json and xml
Cloud platform knowledge (aws or gcp)
Additional qualifications
Experience architecting, developing, and deploying internet scale, distributed and mission-critical services.
Expertise with large-scale infrastructure deployments in enterprise-wide environments, scalable systems and understanding of messaging (pub/sub, queues), caching, authentication.
Demonstrated knowledge of web applications, open-source and cloud technologies and secure architectures for delivering high-end healthcare or saas solutions.
Experience architecting, developing, and deploying internet scale, distributed and mission-critical services.
Experience in designing and implementing restful interfaces.
Understand performance and scalability principles and apply when developing software.
Experience in designing and implementing asynchronous applications.
Experience in development could be with php, java or modern languages.
Expertise with writing efficient queries and the ability to find and fix slow queries.
Experience developing for mobile an asset, using frameworks such as cordova, onsen ui, firebase, etc.
Familiarity with docker and container orchestration platforms like kubernetes.
Experience working with sql and nosql databases and caches.
Disciplined approach to design and coding – object oriented programming (oop) as well as test driven development (tdd).
Knowledge of hl7 and healthcare it requirements, including lived experience navigating the healthcare system, are also an asset.
Must have experience in building cloud-based solutions.
Experience with devops / devsecops best practices in areas such as automation, containerization, continuous integration, continuous delivery, monitoring and vulnerability management using tools such as, e.g., git, jenkins, docker, kubernetes, openshift, ansible, nagios, nessus, acunetix, splunk, etc.
Strong knowledge of the owasp secure coding guidelines
