Position summary
The senior data engineer will contribute to the development of the next generation of workstride’s data services, while leveraging most modern technologies to help solve data problems for both workstride and its vast network of clientsThey will also act as the bridge between workstride’s data team, sales team, and engagement managers, to translate complex data issues into easy to comprehend action items.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
· implement automation and monitoring tools for efficient processes.
· enable data ingestion and processing in innovative ways to improve validation, wrangling, etl, and data analysis processes.
· work collaboratively with other teams to understand, and compartmentalize complex and ambiguous business issues, into manageable execution plans.
· maintain a solid and updated knowledge in the data engineering and cloud technologies eco system.
Our ideal candidate
· bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
· 5-7 years of progressive and relevant work experience
· extensive hands-on experience with python, java, apache spark or similar libraries, sql, or other data query languages
· extensive experience with etl.
· working experience with aws platform
· strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· good business acumen, relationship management and influencing without authority skills
· ability to provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis
· strong ability to prioritize tasks from multiple stakeholders and meet deadlines with quality deliverables
· strong written and oral communication skills, and presentation skills
Nice to have
· post graduate education in data engineering, cloud dev/ops or advanced analytics
· experience with channel sales or direct sales data sets
· data validation and data wrangling industry tools experience
