Position summary:

Individuals within the threat intelligence specialization develop and execute a multi-faceted threat intelligence programThey are focused on developing and executing threat intelligence strategies, and providing security-focused consultative services to the organizationThese individuals provide expertise and action to ensure emerging cyber threats are monitored and defenses are prepared with the highest degree of excellence.

Individuals develop and enhance procedures related to cyber threat intelligenceThey serve as incident responders in the event of a cyber attackThey work with special groups within the company to perform confidential investigations and provide back the necessary data to stakeholdersThey update, maintain and document threat intelligence runbooks and frameworks for other team members to followThese professionals work directly with cyber defense and other internal departments and organizations to achieve their tasks.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

· develops and manages security functional area (e.g., threat intelligence)

· monitors for emerging cyber threats and executes the appropriate information security controls and measures to defend against the threats.

· leads security investigations into intelligence findings.

· develops and delivering daily cyber intelligence briefings.

· tracks threat actor groups targeting the company.

· tracks critical cve’s and works with internal teams to remediate.

· reads threat bulletins and attends threat webinars and briefs the team on relevant information.

· processes atomic indicators including hashes, ip’s, filenames, domain names, email addresses and ensure defense in place to protect against them.

· monitors social media and dark web findings for threats.

· leads external discovery program looking at company footprint from the outside.

· conducts threat intelligence training sessions to security operations team and junior analysts.

· develops, reviews, and implements runbooks and procedures for cyber threat intelligence activities.

· assists in other enterprise security services such as incident response.

· contributes strategic and tactical direction on cybersecurity initiatives.

· produces threat intelligence metrics and key performance indicators for executive review.

· performs related duties as assigned.

Experience and educational requirements:

Typically requires 3-5 years of combined it and security work experience.

Requires hands-on experience with threat intelligence tools and techniques including threat intelligence platforms, dark web monitoring, social media monitoring.

Requires experience in incident response engagements or special investigations.
